Leh, July 17: Kavinder Gupta, the newly appointed Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Ladakh, was accorded a grand welcome on his arrival at Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Airport, Leh, on Thursday.Senior BJP leader and veteran legislator, Gupta was received by Tashi Gyalson Khachu, BJP State President of Ladakh, along with party executives, district leaders, and members of the BJP Yuva Morcha and Mahila Morcha. The reception was marked by the offering of traditional khataks and celebratory greetings, underscoring the party’s unity and optimism for the region’s development.Gupta’s appointment follows the resignation of Brigadier (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.), with the official announcement made earlier this week by the Rashtrapati Bhavan.“The President of India is pleased to appoint Shri Kavinder Gupta as the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh,” read the official communique.The BJP Ladakh unit expressed full support for the new LG’s vision and leadership, pledging to collaborate closely with the administration to foster peace, progress, and prosperity in the region.Gupta is expected to take the oath of office in the coming days.
