Udhampur, July 01: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Ranbir Singh Pathania on Monday expressed satisfaction that the annual Shri Amarnath Yatra has commenced safely and successfully.
During the opening of ‘langar seva’ for the Yatris at Battal Balian, Udhampur, he said, “The enemies of peace and tourism in Jammu & Kashmir will not succeed in disrupting the yatra, thanks to a robust multi-layer security grid ensuring the pilgrimage proceeds peacefully.”
Addressing the media persons at the inauguration of the langar seva, which is the 10th such initiative organized by Neelkanth Seva Mandal at this location, Pathania said the langar serves nourishing meals to the Amarnath Yatris, contributing significantly to their well-being. He expressed his gratitude to the Neelkanth Seva Mandal for their continued selfless service towards
The BJP spokesperson said the Amarnath Yatra, a revered pilgrimage that began in 1934 under the patronage of Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh, faced interruptions during the 1947 partition but was reinstated in 1949 through the efforts of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India’s first home minister.
“Over the decades, it has grown into one of India’s most significant pilgrimages, attracting thousands of devotees each year,” he said.
The yatra takes place in the month of Shravan (July-August) and lasts for about 45 days. Pilgrims undertake an arduous trek to the holy cave, braving harsh weather conditions and challenging terrain, driven by their deep devotion.
Pathania thanked the civil and police administrations for their meticulous arrangements ensuring the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
Speaking on the grandeur and spiritual significance of the yatra, Ranbir said, “The Yatra is a true display of devotion, Sanatana dharma, and the grace of Lord Shiva. Pilgrims who take darshan receive blessings that become treasured memories and invaluable parts of their spiritual journey.”
