Jammu, Mar 14: A meeting was held by the executive and direct members of the J&K Football Association (JKFA) on Tuesday in Jammu, chaired by Surinder Singh Bunty, Treasurer of JKFA. The discussion was centered around the pending elections of all District Football Associations (DFA) of Jammu Province. The J&K Sports Council has already authorized the JKFA to conduct these elections, which have been delayed due to unforeseen circumstances.

In the meeting, the members expressed the need for the earliest possible elections of the district bodies in order to streamline football activities at the grassroots level, including district league tournaments and other activities to tap young talent and provide training and facilities. To conduct free and fair elections, S. Kuldeep Singh, Senior Vice President JKFA Jammu Zone, was authorized to head a committee for the purpose and form a four-member committee to assist him in the smooth conduct of the pending elections of all DFA’s of Jammu Province.

Once the elections are completed, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) will be requested to depute representatives to observe the smooth conduct of the General Body elections of JKFA. The J&K Sports Council will also be requested for guidance and necessary action for holding the election of JKFA. Prominent members, along with representatives from all districts of Jammu Province, attended the meeting, including Narinder Gupta, David Masih, Mohan Lala, Feastus Sotra, Yousuf Don, Moon Stephan, Rajesh Sumbria, Charanpreet Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Bharat Bhushan, and Kamaljeet Kumar.
