Srinagar, Aug 29: The Jammu and Kashmir Association of Hajj and Umrah Companies (JKAHUC) Friday issued an advisory for pilgrims regarding arrangements under the Hajj Policy 2026, reassuring aspirants about seat allocations and urging engagement only with trusted agents.A statement issued here said that a total of 52,507 Hajj seats have been allotted to India’s private sector for the upcoming season, distributed nationwide through Combined Hajj Group Organisers (CHGOs). Recognised by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj, these CHGOs will be fully responsible for providing Hajj services in Saudi Arabia for 2026. All 14 registered Hajj Group Organisers (HGOs) from Jammu & Kashmir are affiliated with pan-India CHGOs. JKAHUC stated that there is no need for concern regarding the quota for Jammu and Kashmir. Current projections suggest approximately 2,500 seats will be required for Kashmiri pilgrims, while only 664 seats are currently available through the 14 local HGOs. The remaining seats will be managed by JKAHUC in coordination with all 26 CHGOs nationwide, ensuring fair access and smooth processing. Pilgrims are advised to contact authorised JKAHUC member agencies for booking, seek written confirmations, and verify inclusions, costs, and optional services before making any payments. JKAHUC emphasised its role in promoting transparency, reliability, and support rather than selling Hajj packages directly. The advisory also addressed CHGOs and operators, urging them to maintain fair and professional practices, provide clear communication on terms and inclusions, and issue written agreements to all clients. A JKAHUC spokesperson said, “Our objective is to safeguard pilgrims’ interests and facilitate safe, affordable, and high-quality Hajj experiences. We are working closely with all CHGOs nationwide to ensure every aspirant receives verified and reliable services.” The association represents Hajj and Umrah organisers in Jammu and Kashmir and collaborates with national CHGOs to streamline the Hajj process and protect the welfare of pilgrims.
