Bandipora, July 30: The Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO), in collaboration with the District Administration Bandipora and major e-commerce players, organised an E-Commerce Onboarding drive here.
This initiative aimed to promote local products and educate entrepreneurs and artisans about the benefits of selling products on e-commerce platforms, expanding their operations into the global market.
The event saw active participation from 200 attendees, including women entrepreneurs, retailers, artisans, exporters, growers, and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs). The drive highlighted the advantages of onboarding onto e-commerce platforms, encouraging participants to join online marketplaces.
Around 15 participants were registered on-site for various sectors at no cost, while others began the onboarding process. The drive featured detailed sessions by experts on the benefits of e-commerce platforms.
ADDC Bandipora, Mohammad Ashraf Bhatt discussed the benefits of the e-commerce network and addressed participants’ grievances on the spot.
General Manager of the District Industries Centre (DIC), Mushtaq Ahmad, highlighted the critical role of digital commerce in business growth.
Maqbool Shah from GeM provided a detailed presentation on the GeM portal and facilitated the onboarding of participants. A representative from Flipkart explained the onboarding process via virtual mode.
State Tax Officer Bandipora, Mehrajuddin briefed participants on GST, its importance for online businesses, and the registration process. The representatives from JKTPO highlighted the One District One Product (ODOP) and District Export Hub (DEH) initiatives and the advantages of e-commerce onboarding.
The event featured one-on-one onboarding sessions, enabling participants to quickly integrate into the GEM portal and other platforms. The initiative underscored JKTPO and the district administration’s commitment to empowering local entrepreneurs and facilitating their entry into the global e-commerce landscape.
By providing physical and e-commerce marketing platforms at national and international levels, JKTPO aims to enhance the overall trade and export ecosystem of Jammu and Kashmir. This initiative supports economic growth and creates sustainable opportunities for the region’s entrepreneurial community.
