J&K Yateem Foundation, district admn organise blood donation camp

Shopian, May 16: J&K Yateem Foundation in collaboration with District Administration Shopian organised a blood donation camp at the District Hospital here on Tuesday.
The JKYF in a statement said that 81 volunteers including 3 women donated their blood in the camp.
Deputy Commissioner Shopian Faz Lul Haseeb inaugurated the blood donation camp “in pursuit of common humanitarian cause” in the presence of Dr. Rubella Maqbool, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Shopian and Mohammad Yaqoob Reshi, General Secretary JKYF and a large gathering of officers, officials and volunteers of J&K Yateem Foundation District Unit Shopian. 
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that blood donation is a social service and people, especially youth, should come forward to donate blood which helps in saving precious lives. He appreciated volunteers of JKYF and who donated their blood and also congratulated the stakeholders for conducting the blood donation camp for a better cause.
The DC received feedback from the concerned officers regarding the functioning of the blood bank established in the hospital, the statement said, adding that he was informed that there is a capacity of 300 pints in the blood bank and almost 81 pints remain available.     
The officers of various departments, doctors and paramedics were also present on the occasion.
General Secretary JKYF extended his gratitude to District Hospital and District Administration Shopian for putting in place all the necessary arrangements “in a befitting manner”. He appreciated the “humanitarian spirit” of JKYF volunteers and donors of Shopian for making the programme successful.             
Chairman JKYF Mohammad Rafiq Lone commended the District Representative Abdul Shakoor and his team of volunteers for organising the camp. Lone thanked the district administration and hospital management for their support.
