Srinagar, Dec 06: The School Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday announced a phased schedule for winter vacations in the winter zones of both the Kashmir Division and the Jammu Division.
The order in this regard was issued by the Suresh Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary of the School Education Department stating that all government and recognized private schools up to the higher secondary level in the Kashmir Division and the winter zones of the Jammu Division will observe the winter vacations in phased manner from December 10 and December 16 Respectively.
For students in grades up to 5th, the vacation will commence on December 10, 2024, and conclude on February 28, 2025. In contrast, students in grades 6th to 12th will begin their vacation on December 16, 2024, lasting until February 28, 2025.
The Principal Secretary has directed that the teaching staff of Government High and Higher Secondary Schools must be present at their respective headquarters starting February 10, 2025, to prepare for the upcoming Board Examinations for classes 10th, 11th, and 12th.
Suresh emphasized that all teachers should be available for any necessary online guidance to students during the vacation period.
He further indicated that any failure by Heads of Institutions or teaching staff to adhere to this schedule will result in strict disciplinary action in accordance with the established rules.
