Srinagar, Oct 13: Renowned political leader Zaffer Mir (Lasjan) has voiced profound concerns regarding the “notably frigid reception” President Droupadi Murmu encountered during her recent two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir, particularly from regional political parties.
Mir’s message posted on ‘X’ underscored the surprising absence of a warm welcome for the President, igniting conversations about the political atmosphere within the region.
Expressing his thoughts on the microblogging website X, he penned, “I find it necessary to mention that during President Droupadi Murmu’s two-day visit to J&K, no political party found it fitting to extend a cordial welcome to Madam President. This should be a cause for concern for the entire political community in Jammu & Kashmir.”
The post swiftly gained momentum on social media, with a multitude of individuals questioning the state of political interactions, particularly from native political leaders and parties who appeared indifferent and unenthusiastic concerning this pivotal visit.
The visit by President Droupadi Murmu was widely anticipated as a momentous diplomatic occasion. The absence of a warm reception by has raised doubts about the level of civility and regard within the political landscape of the region.
Remarkably, Zaffer Mir’s tweet has spotlighted the apparent dearth of courtesy exhibited by parties such as the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC), Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (JKPDP), and others who did not extend a gracious welcome to the President.
