Srinagar, Mar 06: In a significant achievement, the Department of Public Grievances, J&K (DoPG, J&K) has successfully resolved 97% of the public grievances received through the Jammu & Kashmir Integrated Grievance Redressal and Monitoring System (JKIGRAMS) Portal.
The JKIGRAMS Portal, revamped in August 2020, has emerged as a pivotal e-governance initiative aimed at bridging the gap between citizens and the administration. According to data accessed by Rising Kashmir, over 3.7 lakh grievances have been addressed from 2018 to 2023, demonstrating the platform’s profound impact in ensuring timely resolution of citizen concerns. With only 10,964 grievances remaining pending, the portal’s effectiveness in addressing public grievances is commendable.
This comprehensive portal connects more than 260 departments at the Secretariat and HoD levels, 20 districts, and over 2000 subordinate offices, facilitating seamless grievance redressal. Integrated with CPGRAMS, the centralized public grievance redressal and monitoring system, the JKIGRAMS Portal enhances its efficiency in addressing citizen grievances.
A notable feature of the JKIGRAMS Portal is its citizen feedback mechanism, allowing individuals to provide their responses on grievance resolutions. This transparency and accountability in the grievance redressal process contribute to fostering public trust in the administration.
In addition to the online platform, the LG’s Mulaqaat program, launched in October 2020, provides a platform for direct interaction between citizens and the administration. Through face-to-face engagements, this initiative ensures swift grievance resolution and promotes greater transparency.
The Department of Public Grievances, J&K, reaffirms its commitment to serving the public and enhancing trust in the administration. It encourages citizens to utilize the JKIGRAMS Portal and call centers for filing grievances, underscoring its ongoing dedication to addressing the needs of the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
