Srinagar, Oct 24: Janata Dal (United) J&K on Thursday held a crucial meeting of office bearers under the leadership of party president G M Shaheen.
The meeting addressed the current political landscape and called for preparing for the upcoming Urban Local Body (ULB) and Panchayat elections, the party said in a statement issued here.
During the meeting, Shaheen urged state leaders and secretaries to prioritise public demands and engage actively with the community to better understand their needs. He stressed the importance of the party being responsive and accountable to the electorate.
The JD(U) leader also discussed the ongoing electricity issues affecting the region. He called on the J&K administration and the Union Power Minister to ensure a reliable 24/7 electricity supply, saying that consistent power is essential for development and the well-being of residents.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to enhance efforts in both electoral preparations and addressing public grievances.
