Awantipora, Mar 10: The Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), participated in the first-ever AICTE IDEA LAB Tech Fest-2025. Students and faculty members from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering represented IUST at this Fest, which brought together over 75 AICTE IDEA Labs from premier engineering institutions across the country. The Tech Fest provided a platform to showcase innovative projects developed within these labs, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.
IUST’s participation in the Fest marked a significant milestone in the region’s journey towards technological innovation. The IUST AICTE IDEA Lab stall garnered great interest from visitors, including students, faculty, and innovators from top institutions across the country, who engaged with the innovative projects on display.
A high-profile delegation of AICTE officials, including Chairman Prof. T.G.Sitharam, Vice Chairman Prof. Abhay Jere, and Member Secretary Prof. Rajive Kumar, met the innovators from IUST and engaged in discussions with students and faculty members. Their interaction highlighted the Lab’s contributions to fostering innovation, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial mind-sets among students.
Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, Vice Chancellor IUST, emphasized that participation in such national event aligns with IUST’s mission to promote innovation-driven education. He highlighted the AICTE IDEA Lab as a hub of creativity and technology, empowering students to develop impactful solutions.
Prof. Parvez Ahmad Mir, Director CIED, underscored the value of hands-on innovation, noting that the platform provided students and faculty with an excellent opportunity to engage with national-level innovators and gain insights into emerging technologies. He reaffirmed CIED’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurial thinking at IUST.
