Awantipora, Sep 2: The Directorate of Internal Quality Assurance (DIQA), in collaboration with Rumi Library, Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), recently conducted a series of workshops on the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) and research publications under UGC regulations.
According to a statement, the sessions aimed to address faculty concerns related to promotion procedures and publication standards. As per a statement Dr. Peer Bilal Ahmad, Director DIQA, highlighted common errors in CAS applications and stressed the importance of understanding regulatory requirements. Dr. Farooq Hussain Bhat, Deputy Director DIQA, explained UGC Regulations 2016 and 2018, covering eligibility criteria, documentation, and timelines. Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Imran, Librarian IUST, led the session on research publication quality, addressing ethics, plagiarism, predatory journals, and best practices for credible publishing. The workshops included interactive discussions on CAS scenarios, API scores, and journal selection. Concluding the sessions, Dr. Athar ud Din, Deputy Director DIQA, appreciated the positive response and noted that DIQA would organize similar capacity-building programs in the future. These workshops were part of IUST initiatives for faculty development and strengthening research standards across disciplines.
