Jammu, May 26: Bringing craziness of Indian Premier League (IPL) at the doorsteps, the enthusiasts of one of the major leagues in the country are set to rock on at–‘Fan Park’—the first of its kind event here on May 28.
Manager Cricket Operations, BCCI representative, Amit Siddheshwar, who is here in the town for the ‘Fan Park’ event was flanked by JKCA media manager Rajesh Dhar and Senior Office Assistant, Manish Angral while addressing media during the press conference here at office of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) in the GGM Science College Hostel Ground said, “IPL has worldwide connected the cricket fans and for the craziest of the fans expressing their love for cricket, players, favourite teams, IPL 2023 brings in the fans of the Fan Parks touching across 45 cities.”

He said that as the ‘Fan Parks’ arc ready to take over the IPL fever across the country, the similar event has also been planned for Jammu City on May 28 at Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government PG College ground, Gandhi Nagar from 3:30 pm onwards.

“Cricket connects and ‘Fan Parks’ like events witnessing whistles, cheering, face painting, shoutouts, crazy stunts, is all about the fans and with every breathtaking moment captured on the giant screens, the venue will broadcast the LIVE action giving the stadium like feel to the fans,” he stated.

He revealed that the entry is absolutely free for the visitors and the fun and excitement will be doubled up with music, merchandise, food stalls, beverages and sonic fun activations by WL’s official sponsors.

“The idea behind hosting such events is to encourage people, who do not have facilities loaded stadiums able to host IPL events or many who cannot visit the venue to witness the match after purchasing a ticket,” he said and added further that with ‘Fan Parks’ IPL venues are being brought at the doorsteps and the cricket enthusiasts have the feel of the stadium.

“Coupons will also be provided at the venue and the winner will be announced through lucky draw and will get the jersey autographed by the IPL teams,” he revealed further adding that the IPL ‘Fan Park’ enthusiasm will also be telecast live in Ahmedabad where the IPL final will be played besides at global platform.

“Apart from providing an experience of watching the final of IPL on a giant screen, it will also have fun frolics and eateries. The event will be a great opportunity for the youth and other cricket lovers of Jammu and nearby places to watch and enjoy the final of IPL in a festival-like atmosphere,” said Siddheshwar.

“The event will surely motivate youth and connect more people with the IPL. Jammu was specifically already in the mind of the BCCI for two reasons. Firstly, the domestic players are doing great at the IPL level and cricket is seeing new heights in Jammu,” he said and added that once the base is created, for which the process is already in progress, Jammu will definitely witness an IPL match live.
“While 40 cities had hosted the league phase of the IPL matches played during the weekends, Jammu gets the opportunity to host the live screening of the all important FINAL on May, 2023,” said Siddheshwar
