Institute of Technology Zakura defeats Govt Degree College Kangan

Srinagar, Mar 10: The Islamia College re-starts its 14th edition of Prof. Yousuf Memorial Cricket tournament at College playfield, after the long break of winter vacations of College. The 10th match of this prestigious Inter-Collegiate Cricket tourney played between the Institute of Technology Zakura and Government Degree College Kangan. 
The Principal Prof. (Dr) Sheikh Ajaz Bashir interacted and introduced with both the teams at the start of the match. The toss was won by the Government Degree College Kangan and elected to Bat first, the Government Degree College Kangan scored 131Runs in allotted 20 overs with the loss of 6 wickets. For Government Degree College Kangan, Rafaqat scored 29 runs in 22 deliveries, for Institute of Technology Zakura,  Saqib Reshi and Soliha took 2 wickets each. 
In Reply, Chasing the modest target of 132 runs, Institute of Technology Zakura scored the target of 132 runs in 14.3 overs for the loss of 01 wicket only.
For Institute of Technology Zakura, Sajan and Sareer in reply scored 74 and 47 runs respectively in 68 and 46 deliveries. For Government Degree College Kangan, Tawqeer took 01 wicket. As such Institute of Technology Zakura defeated Government Degree College Kangan by 09 wickets.
The next match of the tournament will be played on 11th of  March 2023 (i.e Saturday) between Government Degree College Pulwama and Post Graduates of Kashmir University team. 
The Tournament is being Organised by the Department of Physical Education, Islamia College of Science and Commerce Srinagar, in the memory of Ex-Principal Prof Mohammad Yousuf of the college.
