Bandipora, April 02: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed to have seized illicit timber by booking three accused persons involved in the commission of crime in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
An official told Rising Kashmir that on a specific input, police party led by the DO Sumlar raided a house in Hapatnaar Kunan village of Bandipora.
He said that during checking of the house, 30Cft of illicit timber was seized and the three accused persons involved in the commission of crime were booked.
Accordingly, cognizance under relevant sections of law has been taken up, he said, adding that the drive against timber smugglers will continue to ensure protection of green gold.
