The police on Thursday said that they seized 43 cubic feet of illegal timber and arrested an accused person involved in the commission of crime from the Gowharpora village at Chadoora tehsil in central Kashmiri’s Budgam district.
An police official told the Rising Kashmir that on January 4, the Police Station Chadoora have received an information that one person, namely Abdul Gani Dar Son of Habibulla Dar resident of Gowharpora village had kept illegal timber at his home.
“A police team from Police Station Chadoora conducted a raid on the specific location and seized 43 cubic feet of illegal timber from the house.” “The accused person involved was also arrested on the spot,” an official said.
He said that a case FIR number 03/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Chadoora, and further investigation has been taken up.
64 mutton shops sealed, fine imposed on 17 erring traders
Srinagar, Jan 05: In view of complaints pouring in from various corners regarding overcharging by mutton sellers, Enforcement squad of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) has sealed 64 mutton shops from last one week and also imposed a fine of Rs 27000 on 17 erring traders.
It is worth mentioning here that during the month of January-2023 in the entire valley, an amount of Rs 55200 has been collected as fine from 197 erring traders for violating E.C.Act. Besides, 41 establishments also stand sealed.
