Budgam: The officials of the Geology and Mining Department on Thursday seized two tippers and a tractor involved in illegal mining and transportation of minerals in Magam and Narbal areas in this central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
An official told Rising Kashmir that the District Mineral Officer Budgam, Fayaz Ahmad along with a team conducted surprise raids and roadside nakas at various places in the Narbal and Magam areas.
“Two trucks and a tractor were seized after being found without valid e-challans,” the official said. He said all vehicles have been handed over to Police Post Narbal for retention until their release after realisation of the fine under the relevant sections of law.
