Srinagar, Aug 20: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended admission in Masters, Bachelors, PG Diploma and Diploma programmes till August 31.A statement issued here said that the applicants can access the admission portal on the University’s National website. Candidates aspiring for admission will be able to complete their admission process on this portal before the deadline. IGNOU offers admission to various UG, PG, Diploma, PG Diploma programmes in distance learning and online education mode. Before filling the admission form online, a candidate needs to create a User ID and Password on the SAMARTH portal and be ready with an active Mobile No., Email ID, properly scanned academic documents, photograph and Bank Debit/Credit/Net Banking for payment of fee. Learners must exercise caution and be vigilant while submitting their admission forms. They must note their User ID and Password for future use. Please create your DEB ID before starting the application process. IGNOU has launched around 60 new programmes which include Four-year undergraduate programmes (FYUP) in Commerce, Economics, History, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology Anthropology, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, Social Work, Philosophy, Biochemistry, Facilities and Service Management and in Post Graduate programmes like M.Sc. Geography, Geo Informatics, Applied Statistics, Renewable Energy etc. Regional Director, Dr. A. H. Rizvi emphasized the university’s commitment for providing quality, accessible and flexible educational opportunities to learners across the Kashmir Division including the UT of Ladakh. He also communicated to the media that students can take admission at 30 Learners Support Centres affiliated to Regional Centre Srinagar existing Kashmir and Ladakh where students can perform his/her all academic activities like counselling, Practical Lab counselling etc. Keeping the request of the stakeholder, in view the University has further extended the last date of admission till August 31 to its various programmes for the ongoing academic session in order to accommodate potential learners who were unable to complete their admission formalities within the initially announced timeline. The desirous candidates who wish to be a member of IGNOU extended family must avail this opportunity and apply for any of the programmes of their choice well before the last date approaches. This additional time offers an opportunity for those who may have faced challenges or delays in completing their applications earlier. He also cautioned the prospective learners not to fall in trap of any fraudulent persons or callers who may approach for payment of admission fees through QR Codes, WhatsApp or any other social media platforms because IGNOU does not ask for any such details on any platforms other than the University website itself. Dr. Rizvi also communicated to all enrolled IGNOU Learners that the last date of Re-registration for July 2025 has also been further extended till August 31 for all programmes offered in ODL/Online mode.
