Leh, April 26: Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Leh on April 30 for a two-day tour, Ladakh Lieutenant Governor V. K. Saxena said on Sunday .
LG V.K Saxena Said, the Home Minister will take part in celebrations marking Buddha Purnima on May 1, where he will offer tributes to the sacred relics of Gautama Buddha. He is also expected to address the spiritual importance of the special exhibition of these relics taking place in Ladakh from May 1 to May 14.The LG Said in a post on X.
The Lieutenant Governor shared that this visit reflects the Government of India’s continued focus on Ladakh’s growth and development.
Notably, the holy relics originally discovered in Piprahwa, believed to be part of ancient Kapilvastu will reach Leh on April 29. They will be displayed publicly for the first time in the region at Jive Tsal, Choglamsar, from May 1 to May 14, marking a significant cultural and spiritual event for the area.
