Srinagar, April 12 : The annual pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine of Amarnath will begin on July 3, 2026 and conclude on August 28, 2026, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha announced on Sunday.
According to the schedule shared by the Lieutenant Governor on x that the 57-day pilgrimage to the Amarnath Cave Shrine will end on Raksha Bandhan.
He said the “Pratham Puja,” an important ritual performed to seek blessings of Lord Shiva, will be held on June 29, 2026, on Jyeshtha Purnima. This ceremony marks the formal start of preparations for the annual Yatra.
The Lieutenant Governor also said that advance registration for the pilgrimage will begin on April 15, 2026. Pilgrims will be able to register both online and offline.
Registration facilities will be available at 554 designated branches of Jammu and Kashmir Bank, Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India, and Yes Bank across the country.
The Amarnath Yatra is one of the most important religious journeys for devotees of Lord Shiva, attracting thousands of pilgrims every year to the Himalayan shrine.
