Jammu, May 23: State President of Hindustan Shiv Sena, Vikrant Kapoor, has urged the government to implement stringent security measures for the pilgrims attending the holy Shri Amarnath Yatra, scheduled from June 29 to August 19.
Kapoor also condemned the recent killing of a former Sarpanch by terrorists in the Shopian district, stating that terrorists are targeting tourists and carrying out targeted killings to instill fear among the pilgrims. “Such terrorist actions will not succeed in their nefarious plans,” he said.
Speaking at a press conference in Jammu, Kapoor called for a streamlined process for those setting up langar services for the Shri Amarnath Yatra 2024. Expressing deep concern and anger over recent terrorist attacks in Pahalgam and Shopian, he warned terrorist organisations to desist from their cowardly activities.
Vikrant condemned the attack on a tourist couple at the main base camp in Pahalgam and the brutal murder of the former Sarpanch in Shopian, asserting that these acts are intended to intimidate pilgrims.
Hindustan Shiv Sena leader urged the government to take these terrorist attacks seriously, take strict action against the perpetrators, and ensure their elimination.
