Srinagar, Jan 25: The Handicrafts and Handloom Department of Kashmir has issued a total of 7,824 QR-based labels to the various crafts in the Kashmir valley from April 2023 to January 22, 2024.
An official from the Handicrafts and Handloom Department of Kashmir told the Rising Kashmir that from month April 2023 to January 22, 2024, 7, 824 QR based labels has issued to the various crafts into the Kashmir valley.
“507 QR-based labels have been issued for Pashmina, 5,153 for Sozni, 301 for Kani, 577 for Paper Machie, and 1,286 for walnut wood carving,” an official said.
He said that the GI labels for Pashmina in the Kashmir Valley were introduced by the Department in 2013. From 2014 to March 2023, a total of 16,085 GI labels were issued for Kashmir Pashmina.
Furthermore, the official provided information about the authorised users for different crafts. Currently, there are 1,000 authorised users for Kashmir Pashmina, 813 for Kashmir Sozni craft, 629 for Kani Shawl, 153 for Kashmir Walnut Wood Carving, 87 for Kashmir Paper Machie, and 15 for Khatamband.
