Prosecuting officer dismissed over bribery charges
The Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday dismissed Aijaz-Ul-Hassan, the incharge senior prosecuting officer, Rajouri for engaging in corrupt practices.
The dismissal comes in the wake of allegations that he accepted a substantial bribe amounting to Rs 2 lakh from an accused party involved in a murder case in Rajouri.
As per the government order that Aijaz-Ul-Hassan’s misconduct occurred during his tenure as the Senior Prosecuting Officer in the court of Judicial Magistrate 1st Class Thanamandi.
The government cited a violation of the J&K Employees (Conduct) Rules, 1971, emphasizing that the officer failed to uphold absolute integrity and conducted himself in a manner deemed inappropriate for a government employee.
