Srinagar, Aug 22: The Health and Medical Education Department on Friday sanctioned the installation of a state-of-the-art Oxygen Generation Plant at MMABM Associated Hospital, Government Medical College, Anantnag to strengthen healthcare infrastructure. “Sanction is hereby accorded to the Administrative Approval for the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of two 1000 LPM Oxygen Generation Plants at MMABM Associated Hospital, GMC Anantnag,” an official order stated. The project is allocated an estimated cost of Rs 769.34 lakhs and has been sanctioned in favour of the Principal, GMC Anantnag.The ambitious project, approved under Government Order No. 584-JK(HME) of 2025, involves a comprehensive plan encompassing mechanical and civil works.The mechanical component included the supply of 1000 LPM Oxygen Concentrator Plants with PSA technology, 625 KVA DG sets with AMF panels, servo stabilisers, cabling, earthing, and an air compressor medical system.Civil works covered the construction of the oxygen plant infrastructure at the hospital, ensuring that all structural requirements adhered to the highest standards. Special attention has been given to safety and resilience, including earthquake-resistant construction and proper load-bearing tests at the site.The approval stressed that project costs, timelines, and quality standards were inviolable. Regular monitoring and monthly progress reports to the administrative department were mandated to ensure smooth execution.This project marks a milestone in strengthening medical facilities in Anantnag, providing uninterrupted oxygen supply to critical patients, especially in emergencies.With careful planning, adherence to technical standards, and rigorous oversight, the new Oxygen Generation Plant is set to transform patient care.
