Government College for Women, Parade Jammu organized awareness rally at GCW Parade, Jammu

Jammu, Apr 21: The Government College for Women, Parade Jammu in collaboration with District Election Office organized awareness rally at GCW Parade, Jammu.
The rally was led by Sachin Kumar Vaishey, District Election Returning Officer, 5- Jammu Parliamentary constituency. The faculty members along with hundred students of the college participated in the rally which began from the main gate of the college and culminated atthe Panjthirthi chowk. The students of the College raised electoral literacy related slogans like “chabbee ki kutheyjanaaei,vote pan janaaei”, ”Jan jan ne thana hai vote deneyjanahai”, ”Gaon gaongaligalichunav ki laherchali”.
The main objective of the awareness rally was to encourage the general public to vote in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections in large numbers and to motivate the young voters to participate in the electoralprocess without any hesitation, to ensure maximum voter turnout and to help in strengthening the core values of Indian democracy.
The DC Jammu Sachin Kumar Vaishey was accompanied by ADDC Thakur Sher Singh ADDC and Nodal Officer SVEEP Jammu Dr. Vikas Sharma and other team members.
Later The DC Jammu addressed the large gathering of students and staff from various departments within the college premises in which he deliberated on the importance of every single vote after which popular Punjabi singer Sangram Hanjra performed for the audiences which was thoroughly enjoyed by the students of the college. Later the Natrang theater group under the leadership of Balwant Thakur performed a play titled Lok Tantra Ka Asli Mantra.
The audience were mesmerized by the live performance of the artist. The play was successful in conveying the message of importance of right to vote. The volunteers of the Electoral Literacy Club, NSS and NCC unit of the college showed great enthusiasm and shared the important information’s like toll free numbers, My Gov app etc. issued by the Election Commission of India related to the election on 26th April in Jammu constituencywith the first-time voters and other students of the College.
