GGZSMDC dominates second day of Inter-college fencing championship

Jammu, Nov 17: The second day of Inter-College Fencing Championship 2022-23 (M&W) organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu in collaboration with Government General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College, Reasi witnessed four competitions played in Foil Men’s Team, Epee Women’s Team, Sabre Men’s Team and Sabre Women’s Team in the presence of Chief Guest, Dr Kulvinder Kour, Principal GDC, Reasi.  
In the Foil Men’s final, the GGZSM Degree College, Reasi beat PG, Department University of Jammu by 15-09, while GDC Boys (Udhampur) and GDC Paloura shared the bronze title in this category.
Epee Women’s Team GCW Parade beat GGZSMDC Reasi in the final by 15-07, while GDC Katra and GDC Samba won joint bronze.
Sabre Men’s Team GGZSMD College Reasi and GDC Paloura entered in the finals, while GDC Boys Udhampur and GDC Pouni won bronze in this event.
Sabre Women’s Team GGZSMDC Reasi beat GCW Parade by 15-09, while GDC Pouni and GDC Katra won joint bronze in this event.
The bouts were conducted by the technical panel comprising Ajay Kumar, Ranchan Sabarwal, Javed Ahmed Choudhary, Vir Sangram, Mokshi Sharma, Archana Devi, Rajay Kumar, Rohit Panjgotra, Ravinder Kumar, Kamal Kumar etc.
 Others present on the occasion included Sardar Padam Dev Singh, Prof. Anchal Raj, Dr. Samriti Aggarwal, Dr. Chaman Lal, Dr, Mukesh Kumar, Prof. Gourav, Dr. Reena Rani, Prof. Upasana, Dr. Amit Bali, Lt. Prof. Sunil Mangotra, Shashi Kumar Sharma and Prof. Kewal Krishan.
