Kupwara, Mar 11: Government Degree College Kupwara , Department of Botany organized a Skill Development and Capacity Building Programme Under UTMA in collaboration with Agriculture production and Farmers Welfare Department, It successfully met its objectives by informing students about the critical skills needed in Agriculture and Botany. Through useful lectures, students gained valuable insights and skills that will aid them in their future careers.
On this occasion Agriculture department resource persons Include Mukhtar Ah. Karnia (District Agriculture Officer), Mohd Yaseen Lone( Agriculture Extension Officer), Manzoor Ahmed Sheikh (Apiculture subject matter specialist), Aijaz Ahmed Malik (Apiculture development officer)
The Principal Kupwara College ,Dr Abdul Rasheed Malik , on this occasion said that skill development not only enhances employability but also prepare students for real world challenges as it allows students to adapt to changing industry demands and provides opportunities for career advancement.
“Students must prioritize skill development to ensure a well rounded education and a successful future” quoted by Staff Secretary of the college Prof Iqbal Ahmed Darzi.
While speaking Mr Mukhtar Ahmed Kernia , Agricultural Officer Kupwara said that there is growing emphasis on the use of aromatic and medicinal plants.
Dr Nuzhat Jabeen, Head Department of Botany said, “In today’s fast-paced and competitive world, skill Development is crucial for college students to succeed both academically and professionally.”
Dr Irshad , Head Department of Chemistry encouraged students to think creatively, while Dr Khalid ,Head Department of History urged them to adopt these skills in building a successful career,whether in farming, agribusiness, or as eco-conscious.
