Ganderbal Administration issues advisory amid forecast of heavy Snowfall

The Ganderbal district administration has issued an advisory following the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) weather forecast predicting moderate to heavy snowfall over parts of North and Central Kashmir from February 25 onwards.

As per the advisory In view of forecast of moderate to heavy snowfall over places of North & Central Kashmir w.e.f February 25th , 2025 by India Meteorological Department
(IMD) vide Weather Advisory No:- WS-01/02 Dated:- 24,02.2025 the general public isadvised to follow safety guidelines issued by the District Administration/DDMA and
avoid unnecessary travel, remain cautious & not to venture out in slopes, hilly areas or avalanche prone areas during adverse weather conditions during this period to ensure safety and minimize disruptions.

Furthermore, it is enjoined upon all District/Sectoral/HODs of essential
service departments & SDM Kangan/Tehsildars(All) /BDOs(AII) to remain stationed at
their respective headquarters and enforce their men & machinery strictly on ground( as & when required) as per the District Disaster Management plan with close coordination with each other/Police Authorities and the District Control Room Mini-Secretariat
Ganderba(DEOC) for smooth & hassle-free delivery of services and to tackle any exigency.

Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and adhere to all precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incidents during the expected snowfall.
