Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested four gamblers and seized stake money and playing cards from their possession in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A Police spokesperson said, “Acting on a specific information regarding gambling activities along the roadside at Goshbugh Pattan, a police party headed by SHO PS Pattan under the supervision of SDPO Pattan raided the specific spot and apprehended 04 gamblers & recovered stake money of ₹ 4550/- & playing cards from their possession.”
“They have been identified as Waseem Ahmad Dar son of Mohd Akram, Mohd Yousuf Dar son of Mohd Abdullah both residents of Tangpora, Khursheed Ahmad Punoo son of Gh Ahmad & Shafi Ahmad Baba son of Bashir Ahmad both residents of Gohal Chakoo. They have been shifted to PS Pattan where they remain in custody”, he said.
“Accordingly, a case FIR under relevant sections of law stands registered at PS Pattan and investigation has been initiated”, he said.
