The book, though a part of Ella’s first job assignment as an editor leads a change in her life.

Set in the 13th century the book ‘sweet blasphemy ‘narrates the relationship of Rumi and his spiritual guide Shams Tabrizi.

The book ‘ sweet blasphemy’ structured around five elements of nature: Water, Air, Earth, Fire and Void inculcates a significant change in Ella .The novel is based on “love and spirituality that explains what it means to follow one’s heart”

As Ella reads  ‘Sweet Blasphemy’, she realizes the absence of love in her married life and strikes a remarkable difference in the manuscript of the novel she edits.

The “Sweet Blasphemy” is Sufi dervish Shams of Tabriz’s discovery of his true companion, a famous Islamic scholar, Rumi.

As Ella reads the manuscript she grows an inclination towards the author of the novel , Aziz .

Ella who is in her late thirties though settled in her can sense a void in her life despite all love she has got

Through his interactions with people, Shams sets up 40 rules of love in this book which are as follows:

The book is a treat to the lovers of Mevlana Rumi and Shams Tabrizi and their Highly spiritual LOVE and relationship with God.

The emphasis of the book lays on the notion that the perspective for love should not be confined; however , it should be seen with a wider and broader perspective.

The book breaks many conventional notions about RELIGION, FRIENDSHIP and LOVE, and in fact this book reminds you that everyone has a different perspective of interpreting religious texts. Everyone sees in those texts what one wants to see. And in the end it all comes to us to decide what we want in life and find the ways to get it.
