Jammu, Nov 4: Arun Malhotra met Gianni Infantino to introduce Football for School programme to India organized by AIFF’s new office bearers, executive committee members, and the technical committee in honour of FIFA president.
According to a statement, the MoU was signed between the FIFA, Education Ministry and the AIFF to introduce Football for schools programme in India, which will see the game of football being propagated to large number of schools across the country.
Before signing the MoU, Infantino said, “I very much believe in India’s potential. India is a great nation. It is a continent in itself with lots of skill and not just in football of course. The most important thing is the heart and passion that the country has. We need that in football.”
”It’s privilege and honour to meet people who are governing world football and we are hopeful and sure with the support of AFC and FIFA , Indian football will  take new height in coming future under the leadership and guidance of our President Kalyan Choubey,” Arun said. He also thanked ONGC for “always encouraging and motivating our sportsperson”.
Arun will represent the true aspirations of youth of Jammu and Kashmir and his being at this level will prove beneficial for all aspiring players of this region said by a footballer from Jammu. The football fraternity has expressed hope that Arun, who is a technical member of AIFF, will revolutionize football in J&K.
Meanwhile, on the sidelines of the recently concluded FIFA under-17 Women’s World Cup, Friday’s meeting with FIFA president has happened as a continuous process of meeting with football giants. In an earlier occasion, Malhotra met Asian Football Confederation Salman Bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa and AIFF President Kalyan Choubey and had briefed him about football scenario for progression of football in J&K.
