First Round of B2V5 concludes in 92 Panchayats of Doda District

First round of Back to Village Phase -5 (B2V5) concluded today in 92 out of 237 Gram panchayats of 17 blocks in district Doda.

Huge public participation across all areas reflected the success of the programme and high expectations of the people in the UT and District Administration in bringing a positive change for progress, development, and prosperity of the region.

  District Development Commissioner  Harvinder Singh participated in the B2V5 programme at Butla Panchayat of Bhaderwah block. He appreciated the public participation in a festive manner and reiterated the commitment of the administration to empower the people of the district and engage them actively in policy making for their own development. He listened to the public grievances and participated in the Gram Sabha discussion. A ceremonial plantation drive was led by the DDC along with PRIs and visiting officers of the panchayat in Butla. He also led a pledge ceremony. A mesmerising cultural programme was presented by the local artists of the village depicting the rich cultural heritage of the area. The DDC also emphasized the active participation of the people in policy making and implementation for the overall well-being of all residents of Doda.

 The visiting officers (VOs) on day second, along with supporting staff and field functionaries of the line departments listened to villagers participating in the Gram Sabhas and prepared the Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP) as per their wishes. The Prabhari Officers also ensured the awareness and saturation of all the government schemes. They submitted their report of their visit, aspirations, and feedback of the people, in a designated portal and also submitted a hard copy of the same in the district level cell created for the compilation of the data/ reports. The VOs exhorted upon the penetration of online services in the rural population to expedite the public services delivery in a transparent manner. On day two, Visiting Officers inspected various government institutions viz schools, Anganwadi Centres, Ration depots, Health institutions, Patwar khanas, Panchayat Ghars etc. They also visited the sites of ongoing and completed works under MGNREGA, Capex Budget, PMAY, SBM, and other such schemes. Visiting officers also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of some of the important public assets. Visiting officers inspected Amrit Sarovars, interacted with the public especially, youth and created awareness on Self-Employment schemes. Feedback on welfare schemes, services delivery, and the punctuality of officials in the villages was reviewed by the visiting officers on day-2 of B2V5.

The resource persons of various departments also educated the public about scores of welfare schemes and programmes being implemented in the district and motivated them to avail the benefits of the same.

The mega outreach programme in Doda, under the unique initiative of the UT Government, is being supervised and managed by the District Administration Doda, under the leadership of District Development Commissioner Doda Harvinder Singh. The Back to Village (B2V) Programme is the flagship public outreach, participation, and feedback programme. During the programme, the Prabhari Officers visit their respective panchayats, stay there for a specific period to interact and obtain feedback from the grass-roots so as to tailor Government efforts in improving the delivery of village-specific services. The B2V Programme is aimed at involving the people and government officials in a joint effort to deliver the mission of equitable development in rural areas.
