Srinagar, Dec 1: District Ganderbal Kickboxing Association in collaboration with J&K WAKO Kickboxing Association is organising the first-ever Pro Kickboxing League in the UT of J&K.
The league will benefit the kickboxing athletes through a lot of rewards, especially exciting cash prizes, the organisers said, adding that the motive of conducting the league with the help of kickboxing athletes is to show off their talent and receive exciting cash prizes, awards and certificates.
The event will also bring our youth closer together through common interests in sportsmanship and competition and will remove economic barriers to the participation of youth in this event, the association said.
“We are going to conduct trials for overall kickboxing athletes of UT J&K for this league and after trials, we will figure out the top 16 players who will be sponsored by the organising committee and they will compete for the title of Pro Kickboxing Champion of UT J&K including Rs 50,000+Belt for Winner (Gold Medalist) and Rs 15,000+Belt for Runner-Up (Silver Medalist).  The 3rd (Bronze) and 4th position holders will get Rs 5000 each while the remaining 12 players will be given Rs 2000 each plus certificate of this league,” the organisers said.
They said the event will boost the morale of kickboxing athletes and will create a healthy environment in the minds of athletes. “This league is against drug addiction and other narcotic activities,” the organisers added.
