Srinagar, May 17: Apni Party president Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said on Wednesday that hundreds of J&K students appearing for various UG courses have been subjected to extreme inconvenience as their exam centres have not been established within J&K.
He said these students are compelled to travel outside of Jammu and Kashmir to appear in the exams, causing them immense difficulties.
In a statement issued here, Altaf Bukhari said, “I am told that the entrance exam centres for the J&K aspirants seeking admission to various undergraduate courses have been set up outside the Union Territory (UT). This arrangement is likely to result in significant inconvenience for these students, as they will have to bear the expenses associated with travel and accommodation.”
“All students, particularly those from marginalised communities, will not be able to afford the financial burdens of travelling outside J&K,” he added.
Bukhari urged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene and ensure the exam centres for these students are established within Jammu and Kashmir.
“I appeal to LG Manoj Sinha Ji to intervene to ensure that the students are facilitated with the exam centres within J&K so that they will not have to travel outside the region for their exams. LG’s intervention would prevent the students from experiencing unnecessary hardships and enable them to pursue their exams conveniently within Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Apni Party president expressed “great happiness” and congratulated Asrar Javid (Rehbar) on his “remarkable achievement”. Asrar, according to the party statement, hails from the Sanat Nagar area of Chanapora Constituency and will be representing Qatar in the 2023 QIA Champion League.
Bukhari extended his warmest wishes to congratulate him and his family. “He (Asrar) has put in all his efforts in achieving his goal and similarly youngsters should help themselves and work hard with dedication to achieve their goals as Asrar has set up an example, with hard work anything is possible,” he said.
In a message, Bukhari said, “I extend my warm and heartiest greetings to Asrar and his family as he has made us all proud with his outshining talent, with all his dedication and hard work. May Almighty Allah help him in accomplishing his goals, Keep Shining!”
