Srinagar, Aug 21: Chairman of the People’s Democratic Front (PDF) and former minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen has pledged to fight for the restoration of constitutional guarantees and the protection of rights related to land and employment in the upcoming legislative assembly.
During a convention of PDF workers from Druggar, Gurwaith, Basantwuddar, Mujapathri and Laanilab areas of the Khansahib constituency in Budgam district on Wednesday, Hakeem warned people about the empty promises made by traditional regional political parties. He assured that his party, PDF, would be committed to restoring these crucial rights in the legislative assembly.
Yaseen criticised the election manifestos of various political parties, labelling them as “mere political gimmicks designed to deceive the public”.
The convention, according to a party statement, focused on discussing the current political scenario in Jammu & Kashmir and formulating an election strategy for the party’s assembly candidates.
The former minister urged voters to support candidates with a clean public image who are honest and dedicated. The PDF’s core agenda, he said, includes providing employment opportunities for the youth and protecting the special identity of Jammu & Kashmir.
