Srinagar, Nov 14:In a display of fervour and joy, Children’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Jammu and Kashmir, where both government and private schools joined hands to extend warm wishes to their students on this special occasion.
This significant day, observed annually on November 14th, resonates across India, dedicated to promoting the rights, education, and well-being of children. The date coincides with the birthday of India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, known for his deep affection for children.
Educational institutions in the region orchestrated various special programs to commemorate Children’s Day, expressing heartfelt wishes to their students. Hilal Ahmad Bhat, Personal Officer at the Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK), highlighted the active participation of all government schools in the Kashmir valley. Students, in collaboration with their teachers, organized diverse programs within the school premises to mark the occasion.
“It is commendable that students were made aware of the significance of Children’s Day, celebrated annually on November 14,” praised Bhat.
Misbah Bashir, a student, expressed gratitude for the thoughtful gifts received from her school teachers, including a pen, pencil, diary, and chocolate. “These gifts were distributed to all the students in our school,” she shared.
G.N. War, the President of Private School Education Kashmir, reported that private schools in the Kashmir valley also celebrated Children’s Day with various programs and competitions. Students were educated about the importance of Children’s Day, and War emphasized that all private schools in the Kashmir division were informed about the implementation of the School bag policy by the Director of School Education, Kashmir.
Likewise, an official from the Director of School Education, Jammu stated that Children’s Day was observed with enthusiasm in both government and private schools across the Jammu division. The day’s celebrations echoed a collective commitment to the well-being and education of the younger generation in the region.
