Srinagar, Dec 14: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir’s Dr Khursheed Ahmad Dar has been nominated as a scientific advisor by Egyptian-based El-Salhiya Agriculture Co and its European investment partner ‘Netherland Alyasin’ for the introduction and infrastructure development of sericulture in the desert country.

Dr Khursheed Ahmad Dar, an assistant professor of sericulture at SKUAST-K’s College of Temperate Sericulture, Mirgund, will be visiting Egypt at the end of February next year to provide technical guidance for the establishment of sericulture production infrastructure there.

In a letter addressed to SKUAST-K Vice Chancellor Prof Nazir Ahmad Ganai, Executive Director El-SalhiyaMosaad Abdou said the company got in touch with Dr Khursheed during the International Sericulture Congress held in Romania in September and was impressed by his work due to which the company decided to take him on an advisory role.

Vice Chancellor SKUAST-K Prof Nazir A Ganai complimented Dr Khurseed for his nomination as technical advisor to the international Agri-Tech companies.  Dr Khursheed is known for popularising sericulture in border areas of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, like Gurez, Uri, Lolab and Kargil.
