For a hot water bath to cure your joint pain, you need to visit Dubjan for sure. A road through the peeking lofty pine trees which overlooks the mighty Pir Panchal on the famous Mughal road – a vast meadow with hot springs is traditionally soothing your body and relieves you of joint pain and dry skin. Among the best places to visit in south Kashmir’s Shopain, Dubjan stands tall among them.
Dubjan lies in Hirpora Wildlife Sanctuary. Historical Mughal Road which connects Kashmir valley to Pir Panchal trespass via Dubjan.
The road is motorable and the vehicles are parked at the base of Dubjan. But, the two-wheelers go further and ride up to the top of the meadow. From the top of Dubjan, the most enchanting view enthrals visitors. The top of Dubjan is called “Seem Koar” and from the spot, visitors get a view of a few districts, like Kulgam, Shopain, Pulwama and Srinagar. There are two hot springs, and people usually call the hot springs there as “Tata Pani”.
Yawar Nazir, a visitor told Rising Kashmir, Dubjan is famous for a spring for whom a large number of devotional people who believe that by bathing with its water many ailments get cured.
“Many people around the valley and beyond visit this place. It has great potential to come under eco-tourism but the administration is not paying apt attention towards it,” he said.
The Rambi Aar (river) can also be seen and its singing tone sets the spot for a family picnic and other outings. Besides these beautiful things, visitors can also visit the second largest meadow “Rainura” from Dubjan Bridge.
Scores of visitors during the month of June to September visit these springs for baths and take a trail route into the dense forests for adventurous joy.
Locals say that Sheikh Noor Ul-Din Wali had worshiped here for some time and at top of the meadow, there is a stone still available on which foot and hand marks are visible.
There are some imminent steps to be taken for the welfare of visitors.Near these springs shelter sheds, drinking water facilities, and pathways are needed there.
A trekking route developed by Forest Division Shopain welcomes enthusiastic trekkers at the base for a long “Dubjan Nangsar track route”. Moreover, a hut of the Forest Department is there for night stays and for which people can book the rooms online as well.
Dubjan has also been identified as a tourist village by the Jammu and Kashmir administration under the Tourist Villages Development Programme of Mission Youth.
