Kulgam, Aug 06: The District Kulgam Squash Championship 2023 was officially kicked off on Sunday with the opening ceremony graced by esteemed social activist Dr. Suhail Malik. The event took place at the J&K Sports Council Squash Courts and is set to run over two days, concluding on August 6.
Organized by the District Kulgam Squash Rackets Association in collaboration with the J&K Squash Rackets Association and generously sponsored by the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council, this championship promises to be a pivotal moment for local squash enthusiasts. A total of 69 players hailing from various schools have enthusiastically registered to participate in different categories.
In a show of appreciation, the chief guest, Dr. Suhail Malik, expressed his gratitude towards the organizing committee, emphasizing the importance of recognizing their efforts. He applauded the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council for their crucial role in supporting events of this nature, which are instrumental in nurturing the talents of aspiring athletes.
The tournament features an array of matches spanning across Sub Junior, Junior, and Senior categories. In the boys’ section, 18 matches are slated to take place, while the girls’ section will see 16 exciting matches.
