Anantnag, Oct 28: Member Parliament, Anantnag Lok Sabha constituency, Justice (Retd.) Hasnain Masoodi on Saturday said the aim of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committees (DISHA) meeting is to identify any impediments in the implementation of welfare schemes so that effective solutions can be worked out.
Chairing the meeting here at Dak Bungalow Khanabal, Masoodi said DISHA is a multi-departmental forum to evaluate development activities across the spectrum and to identify gap areas. He said that several CSS schemes are presently operational in the district and monitoring their implementation is essential to ensure that intended benefits percolate to genuine beneficiaries.
Masoodi reviewed various schemes including MGNREGA, PMAY, NRLM, NHM, Ayushman Bharat/ JK Sehat Scheme, JSY, JSSK PMGSY, SBM, IDPS, RDSS, JJM, AIBP, PMKSY, ICDS, DILRMP, ICPS, MSK, OSC-W, NFBS, Credit Linkage etc.
He also took a department-wise extensive review of Horticulture, Agriculture, Animal and Sheep Husbandry. While taking stock of department-wise progress, the MP stressed bettering the performance under these schemes, especially under power transmission and distribution schemes, MGNREGA, SBM, PMAY, NRLM, JJM and ICPS.
Focusing on the welfare measures for dairy farmers, Hasnain Masoodi said that while the milk production in the district is on the rise, however, increased intervention for improving the marketability of milk produce is essential to increase the income of dairy farmers.
He said that a project for the replacement of barbed wire from the electrical network is going on and will be replaced by cable wire soon.
He appreciated the district administration for completing the targets given in the previous Disha meeting. He said the the government is committed to easing the life of the general public and the schemes for creating employment must be implemented in letter and spirit.
While taking the review of each department, Masoodi stressed cooperation, coordination and working with enthusiasm. He advocated for every beneficiary to be benefited under CSS and other social security schemes.
Prior to this, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, S F Hamid apprised the chair of developments across various sectors. He said that works under District CAPEX are being taken up with added vigour and estimation and tendering has been completed in most projects and several works are under execution. He assured the chair that regular reviews are being held separately with departments to identify any gap areas.
