Srinagar, May 31: In recognition of their dedicated service to the department, the Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, R.R. Swain, has approved a retirement gift totalling rupees one crore and fifteen lakh for 115 police personnel who are retiring from their services.
“As per the PHQ J&K order No. 1346 of 2024, retirement gifts of rupees one lakh each have been sanctioned for four gazetted officers, eighty-nine non-gazetted officers, seventeen lower subordinates, and five followers,” a police spokesperson said in a statement issued here. “These personnel hail from various units and wings of the department. The amount has been disbursed from the Contributory Police Welfare Fund.”
The retirement gift serves as a token of appreciation for the invaluable services rendered by the police personnel to the department throughout their careers. It is granted to them upon their retirement.
In the current year, the Police Headquarters has already sanctioned a total of 9.65 crore rupees as retirement gifts for 965 police personnel who have retired from their services due to superannuation.
“The Police Headquarters has undertaken numerous welfare initiatives to ensure increased assistance and support for the welfare of its personnel and their families, underscoring its commitment to the well-being of its members,” the spokesperson said.
