Deputy Commissioner Reasi Vishesh Mahajan today presided over a meeting of concerned officers to assess preparations for the ‘Fifth Phase of Back to Village Programme (B2V5)’ commencing from November 14 in the district.

The ‘Back to Village’ initiative is the flagship public outreach, participation, and feedback program of the Jammu and Kashmir Government. Threadbare discussion on a number of activities scheduled to be carried out during the program was held in the meeting.

A virtual and physical training of the Prabhari Officers was held under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Mahajan in the Conference Hall of DC office Complex.

Prabhari Officers were trained to review the implementation of previous and current year deliverables in the panchayats, focus on improving e-services penetration, and impart general awareness of the government schemes. They have been impressed upon to identify beneficiaries, especially youth and women, for availing skill development and self-employment schemes. Day wise activities were discussed in detail, and officers have been asked to make extra effort in making the programmes a grand success.

The DC said Prabhari Officers need to  focus on self-employment, Swacch Bharat Mission, Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K, Nasha Mukt J&K, Sanginis and Sahayikas, Pashu Sakhi, Digi Sakhi, old age pension schemes and organising sports and culture activities must be ensured along with the saturation of the targets in the schemes associated with the welfare and well-being of the public.

Furthermore, the DC said that the program has played a pivotal role in spreading awareness about the numerous government services and initiatives. The DC asked the stakeholder departments to mobilize the people for enthusiastic participation in the program, emphasizing that their involvement is imperative for the success of the program. He also encouraged all government officers to actively engage in B2V5 and Viksit Bharat Yatra activities to achieve the specific objectives set for the programmes.

The meeting was attended by SSP Reasi, Amit Gupta, ADC Abdul Star, Joint Director Planning, ACR, ACD and other concerned officers.
