New Delhi, May 25: Minister of Home, Power, Urban Development, Education, Higher Education & Training, Ashish Sood Sunday said Delhi government is committed to mitigate the sufferings of the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community.
He made these remarks during a function organised by the J&K Internally Displaced Welfare Society in Pamposh Colony, New Delhi. He was speaking as the Chief guest in the programme in which Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, senior BJP & KP leader and human rights defender was the guest of honour. The function was presided over by Sushil Hashia, President, JKIDWS while the vote of thanks was presented by Arun Qazi, Executive member of the organisation. Vinod Koul, General Secretary, JKIDWS conducted the proceedings of the programme The Chairman, Nanajee Raina gave an introduction speech in the function.
The organisers felicitated the important dignitaries with Saropa and flower bouquets. A prominent socio-political Sardar Harbans Singh was specially honoured by the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour for his exemplary voluntary role during the Covid19 scenario and thereafter in the service of the society.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo in his speech said that the Kashmiri Pandit community activists have been agitating over this issue for the last almost a year when the relief was stopped by the AAP government. Thousands of families are suffering due to the wrong decisions of the administration taken during the earlier regime of Aam Aadmi Party.
“The new dispensation under BJP in Delhi has made promises to the displaced community from Kashmir that their issues would be addressed to the satisfaction of the agitating community members. We will follow this process till the desired results are achieved”, he said
The KP displaced community has been pursuing the protests in this regard under the banner of JKIDWS for the last several months along with the other organisations of the community.
A strong protest in this connection was held on 7th of this month outside the Delhi Secretariat which was followed by a series of meetings with the ministers and the concerned bureaucrats of the Delhi administration.
The delegations under the leadership of Chrungoo also met the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, Dharmendra Kumar, Revenue Secretary cum Divcom, Ashish Chander Verma and DC Headquarters, Amol Shrivastava.
Representatives of Kashmir Samiti, Delhi headed by Sumeer Chrungoo, prominent KP activists like Kundan Kashmiri, Ashish Zutshi, Sanjay Saraf, Monika Razdan, Ramesh Bhat, Deepak Handoo, K.K.Bhujoo, Kuldeep Koul, Sanjay Kher and Kuldeep Bhat also attended the programme. The function concluded with the recitation of the National Anthem.
