Commissioner R&R visits migrant camps, reviews arrangements for Maha Shivratri

Jammu, Feb 25: Commissioner, Relief and Rehabilitation (M) Organisation, Dr Arvind Karwani, Tuesday visited Jagti, Nagrota, Muthi and Purkhoo migrant camps to take stock of necessary arrangements being put in place for the annual Maha Shivratri Festival.
Dr Karwani inspected the stalls put by different departments for sale of flowers, vegetables, walnuts, pooja and food items at these migrant camps besides prominent locations at Jammu, having substantial population of Kashmiri Pandits. The Commissioner asked the Floriculture Department and Department of Horticulture Planning and Marketing to ensure adequate supply at Jagti, Muthi, Purkhoo and Nagrota and non-camp areas like Durga Nagar, Roop Nagar, Janipur Colony, Anand Nagar, Bohri, Gangyal, Subash Nagar, Muthi, Udhaywala and Talab Tillo during the festival days.
Dr Karwani also inspected the Ration Depots in the migrant camps to take stock of the availability of ration. The Department of FCS&CA assured smooth supply of all quality food items in all migrant camps and non-camp areas. The Commissioner also asked the Chief Engineers Jal Shakti and JKPDCL to ensure uninterrupted electricity and water supply in all the migrant camps during the festival days.
