Ganderbal, Feb 12: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited Beehama in Ganderbal district to offer condolences to the families affected by a recent fire incident. He assured the victims that the government would provide all possible assistance to help them recover from the losses.
Speaking to reporters in Ganderbal, CM Omar Abdullah stated that the Deputy Commissioner of Ganderbal was on-site and relief measures for the affected families were being finaliSed. He reassured that aid would be provided as soon as it was sanctioned.
“I am here to express my condolences to a close companion and his family,” Omar said during his visit.
When asked about his recent meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the J&K CM described it as “good” and confirmed that several issues were discussed.
“It was a good meeting. Several issues were discussed including the Sopore killing and death in Kathua. It was emphasised that there should be a transparent probe and anyone found guilty should be punished,” Abdullah, who met Shah in Delhi on Monday.
He also mentioned that discussions were held regarding the restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood. “The budget session will begin on March 3, and since we are a Union Territory, the central government plays a role in our financial matters. We discussed several budget-related issues with the Home Minister,” he added.
