Jammu, Aug 15: To enhance the beauty of Jammu City, the Municipal Corporation of Jammu has successfully completed its goal of planting 60,000 diverse trees across 30 different locations as part of the ‘Clean Jammu, Green Jammu’ initiative, thereby contributing to a greener, cleaner, and less polluted Jammu.Dr. Devansh Yadav, the Commissioner of the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), informed Rising Kashmir that the ‘Clean Jammu, Green Jammu’ initiative, which aims to plant 60,000 various trees in 30 different locations throughout the city, has been accomplished.”We have initiated various programmes under the ‘Clean Jammu, Green Jammu’ initiative, with the objective of completing all these projects before August 15th. Under the supervision of the Chief Secretary, we have met our target of planting 60,000 trees in various locations across Jammu City. Additionally, we have conducted a mega plantation drive in which different types of trees were planted in Qasim Nagar Jammu, to establish an urban forestry area in that location. Both of these plantation initiatives were completed under the guidance of the Chief Secretary,” Yadav saidJMC Commissioner said that residents have also been facing issues related to street lighting in Jammu City. “In response, we have launched a citizen-friendly Street Lights Repair Drive, which has recorded over 1,500 grievances under this initiative across Jammu City,” he said.”As part of the Clean Jammu, Green Jammu initiative, we have organised the SWACHH JAMMU RUN – 2025. This was a 10-kilometer run in which youth, students, and individuals from various age groups participated to raise awareness about the Clean Jammu, Green Jammu initiatives,” Dr. Yadav said.
