Srinagar, Feb 26: Civil society members, youth from various public offices, traders associations, and civil society members on Sunday held a candlelight march in Shaheed Farooq Chowk in Pulwama against the killing of a Kashmiri Pandit in Pulwama.
On Sunday, a Kashmir Pandit was shot dead after terrorists fired upon him in Achen village of Pulwama district in south Kashmir. The victim was immediately rushed to the hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
The deceased has been identified as Sanjay Pandit, S/O Kashinath Pandit R/O Litter Achan Pulwama. He was working as a security guard in a Jammu and Kashmir bank.
The protestors expressed solidarity with the victims’ families and stated that peace is the only way forward. The participants held placards demanding an end to target killings.
The candles were lit in Shaheed Farooq Chowk to express condolence and solidarity with bereaved families. They condemned the gruesome killings and demanded an end to violence and bloodshed.
The march witnessed huge participation of people, with participants holding candles to express sympathy with the victim’s family over the target killings.
