Jammu, Aug 10: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership in Jammu and Kashmir has kicked off its preparations for the upcoming 2024 assembly elections with a high-level meeting held at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar here.
The meeting was attended by key BJP figures, including Tarun Chugh, BJP National General Secretary and J&K Prabhari, Ravinder Raina, President of J&K BJP, Ashok Koul, General Secretary (Organization) and Aseem Gupta, Vice President of J&K BJP and Convenor of the Election Management Committee, the party said in a statement issued here.
During the meeting, Tarun Chugh addressed the newly formed J&K BJP Assembly Election Management Committee. He called for meticulous planning and preparation for the upcoming elections and urged the committee members to work tirelessly up until the last day of the polls.
“The election management committee is the guiding force behind the entire election campaign,” he said, stressing the significance of behind-the-scenes efforts in securing electoral success.
Ravinder Raina focused on outlining the specific duties and roles of the committee members. He highlighted the need for honesty and responsibility throughout the electoral process. The J&K BJP Chief interacted with the committee members, discussed their roles and encouraged them to stay committed to navigating the complexities of the election.
Ashok Koul underscored the critical role of the election management committee and urged them to review their tasks thoroughly, consulting senior party leaders and paying close attention to every detail. He discussed upcoming party programmes, particularly the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, and encouraged the leaders to engage with the local community at the grassroots level.
Following the main meeting, various sub-committees also held separate discussions to strategise their future actions and responsibilities in the run-up to the elections, the statement said.
