Ramban, July 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Youth Congress launched the “Chalo Panchayat” program in Ramban, led by Fairoz Khan, former Youth Congress Working President J&K and former National President NSUI.
This event underscored the Youth Congress’s commitment to grassroots engagement and community development, drawing significant participation from local youth and key leaders, the party said in a statement issued here, adding that the program focused on addressing the issues and aspirations of the people at the panchayat level.
This initiative also centred on the upcoming state elections, aiming to mobilize and engage the youth to actively participate in the electoral process. By addressing local issues and empowering the youth, the Youth Congress seeks to build a strong and informed voter base that will contribute to a vibrant and dynamic democratic process in Jammu and Kashmir, the statement said.
Yassir Malik, former Youth Congress President, emphasised the need for immediate assembly elections and the transfer of full powers to the public, instead of the Lieutenant Governor acting as a “super Chief Minister”. He expressed full support for the “Chalo Panchayat” initiative.
Pawan Kumar, Block President Gandhri highlighted the importance of addressing unemployment issues and pledged to campaign across every panchayat to ensure the success of the program.
Kuljeet, Block President Rajgarh, praised the initiative, asserting that the people of Ramban will have their voices heard.
Saddam Bali, District Spokesperson, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the youth’s demand for statehood. He committed to door-to-door campaigning, advocating for the restoration of statehood.
Dr Shmoon Arfan, Senior Spokesperson, reflected on the critical issue of unemployment, stating that they would fight tirelessly to address it and shape the region’s future.
Ali Shan, Block President Ramban, stated, “We want to live peacefully and have jobs for the unemployed. Youth Congress will hit the streets if the situation continues.”
The program was graced by the presence of Zeeshan Bali, Ayaz Katoch, Masood Khan, Zubair Katoch, Akhter Dar, Rashid Bhatt, Man Singh, Ashraf Khan, Reyaz, Waseem, Raza, Nasir, Anzar and other youth leaders.
The “Chalo Panchayat” program exemplified the unity and determination of the youth in Ramban, rallying behind Fairoz Khan to drive positive change and development in their region, the statement added.
