Srinagar, May 18: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Department of Revenue to extend the deputation tenure of Raja Yaqoob Farooq, an Indian Revenue Service Officer (IRS), to the Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
As per the official communication referenced under Department of Revenue letter No. HRD/CM/152/157/2018-19/6856 dated 28.02.2025, the extension is granted up to November 10, 2025. Farooq, an Indian Revenue Service officer of the 2014 batch, has been serving on deputation with the Jammu and Kashmir administration. The extension ensures continuity in his current role within the Union Territory government, reads the official document.
